Should i or should not choose to be a Merchandiser, a Pattern Technician or a Fit Technician or remain my post?
Currently, im working as a Technical Asst in the Technical dept, more like a secretary. Lately, the company has reshuffle the work load, & now i've left nothing much to do. Feeling more depressed, my company may be shrinking the size, that means retrenchment. The day before yesterday, our second big boss ask the whole technical team to his spacious office to hold a meeting with us. He's very smart & smooth talker, he turned the story to a very good one... But we are smart pple too.. we understand that he wants us to resign by our own rights.
Then come along my manager
A.. asking me if i wan to change my designation cos she find me feeling very bored for my current post. Furthermore, she mentioned to me that the Merchandiser Manager from the Marketing/ Merchandise dept wants me to be in her team. I'm very puzzled abt it, y me? I know the work load as a merchandiser is very tedious. They have to meet clients, follow up orders from sampling to production, order thread, accessories & fabric.
I ask if there are any other option other than Merchandising.
A mention Pattern or Fit Technician in Technical dept. but im neither interested in these 3 options.
A have been pestering me for an answer since monday.
Am still brooding abt. How????
