What's a TABOO??? ... according to the my little oxford dictionary: is a prohibtion made by religion or social customs. Am watching the National Geographic, showing "TABOO" regarding different countries wif traditional extreme gourmet.
Start from Iceland, they have this festival which is held once a year...they are eating Goat's testicles, eyes, head, tongues... so gross..smell like urine. Besides feasting on eyes, they even eat fermented shark meat that smell of ammonia. They will leave the shark rot to death for about 2 months b4 eating them as to drain away the toxic from its' body.
Second from India, they have tis traditional food tat called "Goatee Pie" ... do u know what's the ingredient?? i reali freak out.. they are eating foetus of a goat cook in curry ...omigosh I nearly vomit out what i ate when i see the butcher dissect the placenta and stomach of the pregnant goat to take out the foetus..*puke puke* And the natives mention it is good for pregnant women & cure back aches. Would u like to try some "Goatee Pie"?
Third in Africa...they eat rodent. Aww..so disgusting.. but it is consider a rare delicacy for the Africans. The natives will form a group to hunt for 1 rodent. They have a technique to catch rodent, they bring along a hunting dog to detect rodent habitats. After which they will stuff up 1 hole and start digging from the other end. At first, I was thinking, 1 rodent enough for everybody meh? But i am proven wrong. The rodent is the size of a cat, mind you.
Lastly, they talked about the taboo in Taiwan. They ate the cow's penis & rooster's testicles & is costly. *faint* Do u know... the length of a cow'd penis?? is an average of 3 feet long b4 erection.. wow! Because the Chinese believe when they eat the pig brains, they will get brainy. And when they eat chicken feet, they can run fast. And when they eat the penis of a cow, they will be good in "uhh uhh", u know what. As for rooster testicles, women will benefit from it well-known for enhancing beauty & youth.
All in all, i feel that taboo works in the minds of individuals. In reality, will u eat a testicle even if it is said good for you? If u can, congratulations u are qualify to join fear factor. :p
